You moved into a place with a pre-installed home security system
Sometimes when people purchase a home, a home security system is already established. All the alarms and cameras work, are installed in the best spaces, and are ready to go. In this instance, you might see that you have to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint expert will still show up to ensure there are no compatibility problems, and they might offer suggestions on an upgrade or two. It's a fast trip, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without paying for any new components -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a one-time set-up cost to make the transfer easier. If the owners are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, transferring the security contract may be a condition of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your old components with you
You may want to bring your old home security components with you to a new home when you move. Luckily, it's pretty simple to accomplish, as most smart devices are wireless. You can remove each component by yourself or call a Vivint installer to come and dismantle your devices. Then our installers will set up the same components -- and any additions you need to have -- in the new house. And your home security contract will remain the same.
